About Me

A career that was not a straight line.

The parts that did not go to plan shaped me as much as the parts that did. Here is how I became who I am.

Starting at the sink

My first job was washing dishes at a local bakery when I was thirteen years old. From there I went to work as a busboy at a restaurant, and I stayed at that restaurant for about ten years, working my way through most of the positions there. When I went to college, I kept working in restaurants. By the time I was a young man, food service was not something I had chosen so much as something I already knew and was good at. I came up from the ground floor, and I have never forgotten what every job in a restaurant actually feels like to do.

Learning to lead the hard way

My first management role was a hard one. I was the same age as most of the people I was supposed to be leading, and I did not yet have the leadership skills to do it well. I would either do the work myself rather than delegate it, or I would overcompensate for my lack of experience by acting in a superior and demeaning way toward the people under my authority.

I am not proud of that, but it taught me something. I became a better leader over time and with experience, by working under different managers and adopting the habits of the good ones. I also read many books on leadership, and those books helped me in the restaurant field and later on as well. I know what it costs to lead the wrong way, because early on I was that kind of manager myself. Growing out of that is a big part of why I now hold dignity and respect so strongly.

What I believe

I believe that each day provides a fresh opportunity to accomplish your goals. I believe that all people should be treated with dignity and respect, because we were all created equally by God. And I believe that all things are possible with the right mindset, plan, and execution.

I hold the values of dignity and respect so firmly, in part because I once led without them. I know what that costs, and I will not build that way again. I will not be the high-pressure salesman, and I will not compromise my faith principles to get someone to buy a product or join my business. Whether someone decides to buy, join, or pass, I want them to feel that I was genuinely trying to give them something that might help. The person who says no should walk away feeling just as respected as the person who says yes.

My mission is to offer a duplicatable system that gives people the ability to earn a life changing income from home, and to help people achieve better health and wellness as they age.

There is a gap in both of the worlds I work in, and it is the same gap. The wellness world aims most of its message at the young. The earn income from home world does the same. People my age are largely skipped by both, and yet they are often the ones who need both the most. I fill that gap because I am living it. I am not guessing at this audience. I am part of it.
